DEER PARK - A police chase ended in a crash last night in Suffolk County, leaving a woman seriously injured.

Police say they pulled over a stolen Kia at around 10 p.m. on the westbound service road of Sunrise Highway in Islip. According to authorities, the driver took off and hit speeds of more than 100 mph.

The suspect crashed into a Chevrolet TrailBlazer on West Sixth Street and Central Avenue in Deer Park while trying to outrun police.

The driver of the Kia allegedly tried to run but was arrested.

A passenger in the stolen Kia suffered serious head injuries, while the driver of the TrailBlazer suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
