Sticker shock: Gas stations charging $2 more for credit

WOODBURY - By now, most Long Island drivers know they are going to have to pay more for gas if they pay by credit at the pump. Yet despite vows from local legislators to put a stop to the practice, many stations on the Island are still doing it - and some have jacked up their credit prices even higher. News 12 Long Island found several stations that are charging more, including one station that's demaninding an eye-popping $2 more per gallon of gasoline purchased by credit. The credit price for a gallon of gas at a Bay Shore Mobil station today was $5.59, compared to the more reasonable $3.59 for cash purchases. The numbers had many motorists doing a double-take.News 12 LI Traffic & Weather
