ALBANY - Early this morning, the state Senate approved an approximately $136 billion state budget.

The budget raises the minimum wage to $9 over three years and offers a $350 STAR rebate to families with children.

According to officials, the budget also increases aid to Long Island schools by $1 billion.

The budget will now head to the Assembly tomorrow where it is expected to pass before the April 1 deadline.
