MEDFORD - State budget cuts could cut child care services to residents across Suffolk County.

With an estimated $8 million shortfall in state funding, nearly 2,000 kids could be dropped from child care assistance in Suffolk County.

The number of parents receiving assistance for child care costs over the last three years has risen from 4,000 to more than 6,000 in the county.
