The budget was expected to easily pass by the Sunday deadline.

ALBANY - The state Assembly is expected to vote on the state budget today .

The state Senate approved the spending plan early yesterday morning.

The plan would increase school aid for Long Island by 5.3 percent or a $121 million increase from last year. That is $50 million more than what Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed in January.

The budget deadline is April 1.
