WOODBURY - Whether you are waiting in a movie line on Long Island or blasting womp rats on Tatooine, it seems like the whole galaxy is excited about the opening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Theaters across Long Island began showing the seventh installment of the space saga as early as 7 p.m.

"The Force Awakens" takes place 30 years after "Return of the Jedi."
