LONG BEACH - It's only mid-April, but it felt more like July today as temperatures across Long Island shot up into the 80s. Many residents took advantage of the spring scorcher and visited local beaches in droves. Others say they camped out inside and cranked up the air conditioning to escape the toasty heat. The warm spring weather is expected to continue tomorrow, with temperatures in the upper 70s on the forecast.
