There is a new measure to keep Long Island boaters safe for the 4th of July.

There will be speed limits in Northport Bay and Huntington Bay during the holiday. Boaters must not go faster than 5 mph between 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Parts of the Long Island Sound will also have speed restrictions.
