WOODBURY - The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who pushed a dog out of a vehicle in Moriches last week.

According to the SPCA, the dog was let out of an older-model green Jeep Grand Cherokee on Jerusalem Hollow Road.

Officials say the pup tried to get back inside the vehicle, but the driver pushed it away. They say the dog pursued the Jeep and wound up getting hit by another vehicle. The dog was not seriously hurt.
