SPCA: Dog pushed out of moving Jeep in Moriches

The Suffolk SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who pushed a dog out of a vehicle in Moriches.

WOODBURY - Police are searching for the person who pushed a dog out of a moving vehicle in Moriches.

The alleged incident happened last week.

The Suffolk SPCA says someone driving a dark green Jeep on Jerusalem Hollow Road opened the door and pushed out the dog. The agency says the dog tried to get back inside the vehicle, but the driver pulled away.

News 12 is told the animal was then hit by a car traveling in the opposite direction. The dog suffered bruises but is otherwise OK.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722.
