SOUTHAMPTON - The Southampton Full Gospel Church is asking for any donations Thursday to aid Hurricane Matthew victims in Haiti.

Mission Reach Out Haiti, a nonprofit humanization organization, has been committed to helping the people in Leogane, Haiti since 1982. Founder Pastor Don Havarilla says he and his wife saw the need for food and education in the area and wanted to help.

"We call ourselves the 'General Motors' of Leogane because unemployment is so desperate down there," he says. "We've been providing jobs and helping people, we've been there through the earthquake and now the hurricane."

Havarilla says the organization has employed over 100 people. He says Leogane school classrooms, electric and water supplies have been damaged from the storm.

The Southampton church leaders say despite the devastation, they will rebuild the Haitian church and school.
