South Shore endures more flooding after last week's storm

Residents say coastal flooding has been happening more often since Sandy hit Long Island. (March 10, 2013)

FREEPORT - Low-lying areas along the South Shore are dealing with another round of flooding following last week's snowy nor'easter.

A coastal flood advisory was in effect for parts of the Island through noon Sunday.

Residents have called News 12 Long Island to report flooding in areas including Freeport, Lindenhurst, Babylon, Amityville and Massapequa.

Residents say the flooding has been happening more often and has gotten worse since Sandy hit last year. Experts say damage to the barrier islands have contributed to higher-than-normal floodwaters.
