BELLPORT - Members of the South Country school board held a private meeting tonight to discuss an alleged grade-changing scandal at Bellport High School. An independent report found that the grades of former Bellport High School football player Ryan Sloan were altered so he could receive a scholarship to Syracuse University. It also says that his coach and current school superintendent Joe Cipp were aware of the measures. Ex-school administrator Antoinette Huffine says Bellport's culture of intimidation allows student athletes to progress in spite of poor performance. Cipp has denied the allegations. The next public board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night.
