HEMPSTEAD - ? Officials say four days after a huge fire tore through their apartment building; some Hempstead families are still not able to go home. A five-alarm fire ripped through Fulton Manor apartments on Fulton Avenue on Sunday. About 120 families in Hempstead are still displaced. The Nassau County Fire Marshal?s office is hoping work on the apartment building will be done by the end of the week.
