Some LI football fans green with envy amid blue fever

BAY SHORE - Giants fans nationwide are counting down the hours to see Big Blue take the field in Indianapolis, but some Long Islanders are green with envy, thinking of what could've been.

The Rehn family, of Bay Shore, bleeds blue, but also green. Chris Rehn, of East Northport, is excited for the Giants, but his father, Ken, thought this would be the Jets' year.

Ken Rehn went to his first Jets game in 1967 with his father, and he kept the tradition going with his sons, that is until Chris Rehn rebelled.

While not all of the Rehns are as happy about the Giants playing in the Super Bowl as Chris Rehn, they agree that they would rather see Big Blue win than the Patriots.

"We hate the Patriots, we hate the Red Sox, we hate everything about Boston," says Chris' brother, Stephen Rehn.
