HUNTINGTON - Residents had better things to do today than navigate the icy sidewalks or find parking spots among the mounds of snow in Huntington's business district.

Business owners in the downtown area say there were few sales to speak of this weekend, thanks to the snow dumped on the area by Friday night's blizzard.

Roads around town are slowly but surely getting cleared. Highway Superintendent Bill Naughton says that with 800 miles of road to clear, the Town of Huntington is doing its best with an "unprecendented" cleanup effort.

The town tells News 12 Long Island that it hopes to get to every street at least once by the end of the day.
