Snow impacts businesses on LI

"We do quite well in this type of weather," says Kennie Correa. (3/5/15)

BABYLON VILLAGE - The snow created a mess Thursday in areas like Babylon Village.

Businesses on Deer Park Avenue worked to clear off sidewalks outside of their stores, but said business was down due to the storm.

Julian Lopez, of Salon Posh, says the weather has caused a lot of clients to cancel their reservations.

However, the Lo-Man Outdoor Store has been doing extremely well this season because they sell winter goods like hats, gloves and shovels. "We do quite well in this type of weather," said Kennie Correa.

The main roads on the South Shore were somewhat passable but many people said they decided to take mass transit instead.
