COMMACK - ? Many residents across Long Island were greeted with snow today that came to an end by early afternoon.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Bruce Avery said about 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulated across Long Island.

Although the snow totals were not significant, crews at the DOT yard in New Hyde Park started salting the roads as early as 5 a.m.
