SMITHTOWN - Police say an anonymous 911 call last night led to the arrest of a Smithtown mom who was driving drunk with her child in the car.

Cops say they pulled over Brenda Lally, 44, near her home on Lindner Place. Officers stopped Lally's car and say she was driving drunk with her 10-year-old son inside.

Lally was charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law. She had a court appearance earlier today and was released on her own recognizance.

"I want to commend the person who called this in because they absolutely did the right thing," a Mothers Against Drunk Driving representative said. "If more people would do this, we would get more drunks off the road."
