SMITHTOWN - Angry parents packed the final Smithtown Board of Education meeting to protest the district's plan to reduce busing for many students.

The plan was approved by voters by more than 800 votes last month, but some parents are demanding a revote, claiming the ballot initiative was confusing or unclear.

Others said that the safety concerns far outweigh the cost savings expected by the plan.
