SMITHTOWN - Town board members in Smithtown voted unanimously today to clean up a house in Kings Park with or without the homeowner's consent.

Officials believe the homeowner, Charles Ritchie, is a hoarder. They say he has been issued a number of summons relating to the condition of his Heathers Drive property over the past few years.

Neighbors say they're happy to hear about the board's decision, but say more should be done, like ordering Ritchie to get counseling.

Town officials say they do not have the authority to request that Ritchie seek counseling. They say the cleanup process will take place within the next week or two.
