MINEOLA - A Long Island father who is hospitalized and battling leukemia is thankful that through Skype he was able to see his son's birth.
John Sopack is receiving chemotherapy at North Shore LIJ Manhasset and was grateful to see his son's birth at Winthrop University Hospital.
"I was able to see her once the baby came out. I was able to see Christian in full views. It was really phenomenal," Sopack says.
Sopack treatment began last Sunday, a few days before the birth of his second child, Christian Anthony.
Sopack's wife, Natalie, and the new baby are expected to go home this week. John could be home within the next two weeks.
