News 12 Long Island - has reported, ShotSpotter was supposed to be up and running last month, but its activation was delayed by financial complications. Now, the system is on line in Huntington Station, Wyandanch, North Amityville, Brentwood and North Bellport.

Police won't reveal the exact location where the ShotSpotter system was set up, but they say in Huntington Station, it covers a very large area.
