SHELTER ISLAND - A champion sailor from Shelter Island is heading to London next week to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games. Amanda Clark learned how to race at a Shelter Island yacht club, where her name is still on some championship plaques. She and her teammate, Sarah Lihan, make up the youngest team in the Olympics, but they're also among of the best-- they're the reigning World Cup champions. Clark went to the Olympics in Beijing four years ago, but came home with 12th place and some learning experience. This time, she says she's looking forward to bringing home the gold.News 12 Long Island Special: Long Island OlympiansNesconset athlete steps closer to her dream
