RIVERHEAD - The trial of a Lindenhurst man accused of torturing and forcing a teenager and two young women into prostitution began Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Andrew Gayot, 37, held a 15-year-old girl and two women in their 20s captive for months. They say he gave them drugs and beat them in order to force them into prostitution.
On Wednesday, prosecutors revealed the accusations to a jury.
One of the alleged victims took the stand and described to the court a life of drugs and prostitution, explaining how she would have 10 to 20 encounters a day in order to make money for Gayot.
"I was in love with him and I would do anything for him," she told the judge as she broke down in tears. "He told me he loved me, he made me feel special. It was a lie the entire time."
The court took a brief break during the testimony as the alleged 21-year-old victim was too distraught to continue. She is expected to testify in explicit detail about the alleged beatings and rape that occurred while she was held captive.
Gayot's defense attorney would not speak about the case on camera.
The trial resumes Thursday and is expected to last at least a month. The other two alleged victims are expected to testify as well.
