The Setauket Fire Department is hoping to expand its firehouse, but the plans could hit a snag with taxpayers.

The firehouse was built in 1935 and has been renovated a few times. Fire officials say the firehouse is too old and too small, making it difficult to store firetrucks and equipment properly.
