WATER MILL - Sentencing has been postponed for the brother of a man suspected of fatally hitting a nun with his car.

Miguel Ixpec-Chitay, of Riverhead, could go to jail for one year for lying when he told police he hadn't spoken to his brother, Carlos, after the crash. Records show the men spoke on the phone 19 times.

Carlos Ixpec-Chitay is accused of fatally hitting Sister Jackie Walsh, of Syosset's Our Lady of Mercy Academy, while she was walking in Water Mill last July. Police believe the suspect has fled to his native Guatemala.
