QUEENS - Holiday travelers are on edge during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year after a security scare at Newark Liberty International Airport and a massive anti-terror sweep in Britain.

A computer monitor that was checked as baggage prompted officials to shut down part of a Newark terminal today for about an hour as a precaution, while in Britain, 12 men were arrested and accused of plotting a large-scale terror attack on targets inside the United Kingdom.

At John F. Kennedy International Airport, some travelers said they would take precautions in light of the news and might make different arrangements.

Others said today's news did not worry them and they planned to proceed with their vacation plans.
