HEMPSTEAD - A second death has been confirmed from the Hempstead fire that claimed the life of a 8-year-old boy during the snowstorm.
Newsday says Guadalupe Ramirez died at Nassau University Medical Center yesterday morning. Sources say Ramirez lived in the same one-bedroom, third-floor apartment where the fire started.
About 250 people were forced from the apartment building on Saint Paul's Road North. Investigators are looking into how the blaze started.
