WOODBURY - Monday was the last day of summer break for many Long Island children, and changes are ahead for the upcoming school year.
Classes start Tuesday in 33 districts across Long Island. Another 21 districts will start on Wednesday.
Many schools will be restoring full-day kindergarten.

The change comes after an increase of $112 million to Long Island school districts, which is the largest increase since the start of the recession.
On Sept. 9, 67 additional districts will begin the school year.
