MASSAPEQUA PARK - ? Officials say parking illegally in Massapequa Park could soon mean a ticket, even if cops are miles away.

The Village of Massapequa Park has approved a two-month trial program to place electronic sensors in illegal spaces.

Beginning in November, 4-inch wide sensors will be embedded into the pavement at illegal parking spaces in various areas of the town, including Park Boulevard.

Officials say when you park illegally, sensors call a code enforcer's cell phone. The official can then rush over and give someone a $25 ticket.
