SACHEM - Officials say there are allegations that teachers at Sachem High School East forced students to write to lawmakers asking for more money.

The accusations come after the tough cuts in state aid.

Officials say it is illegal for teachers to require students to support a political cause.

Sachem has warned that cuts in aid could lead to bigger classes and higher taxes.
