Russell Simmons has been honored for his commitment to arts education.

EAST HAMPTON - This week's Hot in the Hamptons met with music mogul and famous father Russell Simmons.

Simmons, known as one of the hardest working men in hip-hop, has been honored by East Hampton's Ross Schoool for his commitment to arts education. 

His Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation gives scholarships to some students from under-served communities. 

Simmons also hosts one of the hottest events of the summer - Art for Life. Every summer, he also supports Hamptons parties that have a philanthropic purpose. 

This year's Art for Life is Saturday, July 26.
