WEST BABYLON - A bridge in Suffolk County is being renamed to honor a NYPD detective who was killed in the line of duty almost two years ago.
The bridge on Route 109 in West Babylon will now be known as the Peter Figoski Memorial Bridge.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation to approve the name change this week.
Figoski lived in West Babylon with his four daughters. He was fatally shot in 2011 while responding to a robbery in Brooklyn.
