ROOSEVELT - A local soup kitchen helped out families in need today by giving out school supplies to kids heading back to class.
Dozens of families lined up outside Harvest for the World soup kitchen in Roosevelt to pick up backpacks, pencils, notebooks and more. The organization also had items available such as food and winter coats.
Harvest for the World founder Joanna Bell-Richards says she and her family work with local stores to procure donations.
Harvest for the World is opened three times a week.
