ROOSEVELT - A Roosevelt man is accused of taunting a mentally and physically challenged medical patient.

Authorities say Gregory Richardson, Jr., 21, surrendered to police yesterday.

Richardson allegedly joked about roller coasters while tilting and twisting the wheelchair of a patient at the United Cerebral Palsy Center, where the he worked. The victim is blind and confined to the wheelchair, according to police.

Detectives say Richardson had taunted the patient in a similar manner on at least one other occasion.

Richardson has been charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.
