ROCKY POINT - The Rocky Point High School cheerleading squad has made history, bringing a national cheer title to Long Island for the first time.

The team returned from the Universal Cheerleading Association event in Florida, where they beat out hundreds of other squads to rank Number 1 in the country for its division.

The girls said they practiced six days a week for three or four hours a day to earn the win, but that the hard work was also a lot of fun.
