Parents in Rockville Centre want a school bus stop relocated off of a busy road in the wake of a bus accident earlier this summer.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE - Parents in Rockville Centre want a school bus stop relocated off of a busy road in the wake of a bus accident earlier this summer. Back in June, two buses collided on Hempstead Avenue by Richmond Road, injuring a student and sending a group of girls scrambling for cover. The crash also demolished a stone pillar, which still hasn't been replaced.Parents in the area say they want a new spot for the bus stop and they want the pillar rebuilt.Assistant Superintendent Robert Bartels says the district is taking a closer look at the bus route and the bus stop. The district said it's only received one formal complaint, and says more parents would need to agree that the stop needs to be changed.
