VALLEY STREAM - A Valley Stream man who spent more than 20 years in prison for the murder of his 13-year-old neighbor will soon be up for parole.

Robert Golub was sentenced to 25 years to life after being convicted in 1990 of killing Kelly Ann Tinyes. Investigators say the teen had been beaten, strangled and sexually mutilated before she was found stuffed in a sleeping bag.

The victim's father, Richard Tinyes, says Golub has shown no remorse toward his family.

The Tinyes family met with parole officials on Friday to give a victim impact statement. Richard Tinyes says it was emotionally exhausting to relive the horror of Kelly's murder.

The family has also launched a campaign to keep Golub behind bars.

Golub is scheduled to go before the parole board on Nov. 18.
