WOODBURY - The road for ALS patients has been difficult, but riders kept pressing on as they traveled across Long Island in their wheelchairs to raise money to fight Lou Gherig?s disease.
Chris Pendergrast took his ?Ride For Life? to the schools of Long Island to spread the message that ALS still has no cure, and he needs help to find it.
Students from Long Island walked for a cure, and Pendergrast says it is important that kids are involved because they are the future. Pendergrast has fought ALS for 17 years and has defied the odds.
