CENTEREACH - With more than a foot of snow being dumped in some places on Long Island, residents were hopeful street plowing would go better than it did during the Christmas weekend blizzard.

A lot of the neighborhood streets surveyed by News 12 Long Island - , including some in Centereach, looked plowed and passable, with some still covered in snow.

During the December blizzard, the Towns of Hempstead and Islip were criticized for not keeping the roads clear. Both town supervisors promised things would be different this time around, and generally received positive reviews from residents.
