ELMONT - Residents in Elmont are becoming concerned after an apparent rise in crime.

Police say that in the past few days there have been two robberies and a shooting.Officials say a convenience store and gas station have been robbed and a man was shot while being robbed in his own driveway.Ronald Mack, a member of the Alden Terrace Civic Association, says that the all these crimes are being committed by people coming in from Queens.

Residents say they think the reason behind the crimes is because Elmont is a quiet area at night and that give the criminals time to size up the neighborhood.
