DIX HILLS - A school in the Half Hollow Hills district could be closing, but a majority of residents agree it is the right move to save money.

About 60 percent of residents who took a district survey were in favor of closing the Chestnut Hill Elementary School in Dix Hills.

The closing would help balance the district budget by a million dollars.

The results of the survey were revealed in a public meeting last night but so far no proposal has been voted on.
