Report: LIRR workers to be charged in copper caper
WOODBURY - More than a dozen Long Island Rail Road workers are reportedly going to be charged with stealing while on the job.
Sources tell the New York Daily News that the workers stole copper wiring from yards in West Islip, Queens and Brooklyn. The paper reports that the suspects stole more than $200,000 worth of wiring since 2010.
The workers are expected to turn themselves in within the next few days, according to the Daily News.
