BABYLON - According to a report from the Town of Babylon, more than half of the registered sex offenders living in Babylon are actually living in restricted areas that are either too close to a school, park or day care center.

Residents and officials say the sex offender registry gives a false sense of security. Officials say many times registered sex offenders are no longer living where they say they are.

Laura Ahearn, of Parents for Megan's Law, agrees there are big problems with the registry. She says the only real solution is lifetime supervision equal to the amount of time the offender is required under Megan's Law.
