Prendergrast later clarified that he was referring to her years as president not her age.

WOODBURY - The former head of the LIRR is still collecting her six-figure salary. 

Helena Williams was fired by the MTA in April, but is still receiving her $243,000 salary in exchange for not filing age and sex discrimination charges, according to Newsday. 

MTA chairman Thomas Prendergast says he fired Williams for several reasons, but had also said she was "getting up there in years."

Prendergrast later clarified that he was referring to her years as president not her age.
