SOUTHOLD - A big announcement is expected Monday regarding the sale of Plum Island.

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R- Shirley) will be holding a news conference to discuss legislation designed to prevent the sale of Plum Island by the federal government.

As News 12 has reported, the government wants to close the animal disease research center, sell the island to the highest bidder and build a new billion-dollar center in Kansas.
