WOODBURY - ? Long Island may soon have a stronger voice in Albany thanks to the newly proposed state Senate and Assembly district maps.
The maps were released yesterday and show the 22nd Assembly District added to the western edge of Nassau County, near the Queens border. The districts are redrawn every 10 years by the party that holds the majority in Albany. In the Assembly, it is the Democrats. The maps still need to be approved by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
