THE BRONX - A third period goal by Daniel Carcillo was the difference Wednesday night, putting the Rangers over the Islanders 2-1 at Yankee Stadium in the finale of the NHL's Stadium Series games.

The Rangers were coming fresh off a lopsided victory against the New Jersey Devils, 7-3, at the Stadium on Sunday.

It was the first outdoor game in franchise history for the Islanders.

More than 50,000 fans endured game-time temperatures in the upper teens.
