INWOOD - A Queens man accused of attacking and robbing a woman in Inwood was held on $35,000 bond during his arraignment Tuesday.

Inside Nassau District Court, prosecutors told a judge that Alok Parekh, 30, sexually assaulted an unidentified woman last week. They said the incident occurred as the two were driving around Inwood in Parekh's car. The victim told police that Parekh forced her to take money out of an ATM at a CVS in Inwood and stole her cellphone.

Parekh, from Glen Oaks, was arrested by Nassau police Monday afternoon. Authorities say he resisted arrest. His attorney says his client had a prior relationship with the woman, that there was no sexual contact and that she willingly took money out of the ATM.

Parekh's attorney says the two met online though a dating app and had arranged to meet. During that meeting, he says the woman's boyfriend showed up and broke the window of Parekh's car.

When Parekh threatened to call police, he says the woman offered to pay for the damage with cash. Late Tuesday afternoon, police acknowledged there was a prior relationship between Parekh and the woman.

Parekh is due back in court on Thursday.
